My Unforgettable Experience in Life

Each of us had one experience in life that we can never forget. And one of the scariest and most unforgettable moments in my life was when my father, one of my sisters and I, almost got swept away by a flood. That day, the water in the river was still low, so we decided to cross it so that we can go home. At first, everything seemed okay. The current was slow, and we thought that we could make it. But when we reach the middle of the river, the flood suddenly became stronger. The water rose quickly, and we couldn't go forward or return. We were stuck. We started to panic, but then we saw a branch of a tree nearby. We managed to grab it and held on tightly. But the branch broke. I didn't even realized what happened. I lost awareness and later found myself holding on to a broken piece of wood without knowing that it doesn't have a function. My father was the one who holds me while he was also holding on to another branch, but it turned out that it was only the bark holding on ...

"Poem About a Cellphone"

Each morning, it wakes me up with an alarm, A shining screen that ends the night's calm. With just a tap, a swipe, my day begins, With digital words and virtual things. It helps me learn, it helps me grow, Reminds me there's so much to know. It comforts me when I feel sad, And shows me wonders I never had. But sometimes, I depend too much, On little things, with just one touch. I overlook the tasks I must do, Delay my goals, and lose what's true. Still, in this tool, I see the power To connect, create, and fill each hour. The problem is not the phone, in the end, But how I use it, that truly depends.

The Perfect Gift to my Father

When we talk about giving gifts to our fathers, we usually think of giving a clothes, shoes, or maybe a nice watch. These are good gifts, but for me, the perfect gift that I want to give to my father is my success. My father is always there for us. He works everyday to do his responsibility and to send us to school. He sacrifices too much to provide our needs, and sometimes he even sacrifices his own comfort to make sure our family is well taken care of. Even if he is sick, he is still working to find money for my school. He doesn't ask for much, but I know deep inside, he dreams of seeing us succeed and achieve the things that he always hoped for me. When I graduate, when I start my career, or when I accomplish my goals, I want to look at my father and see how proud he is. I want him to smile, a smile that says that all his sacrifices have helped us become who I am. I want him to know that his dreams for me have come true. Even if I can't show it with a mall clothes or an expe...

"Sea Creatures"

The sea is one of the amazing places here in the world. It's like a big blanket that covers a world full of life. Under the waves, there are creatures that live and move in ways that they belong. Some are tiny, while others are huge. Fish swim in groups like colorful dancers, they turn left and right together as they are part of the show. Their beautiful colors sparkle like silver. Some of the fish are bright like rainbows, while others hide by looking how other fish happily live. The shark, known as the king of the sea, they swim with power. Its fins slice through the water like knives. They are look scary, but they are good friends. The sea turtle moves slowly. They have a shell on their back and their eyes seem to tell stories. They swim calm, and live with peace. They are a wise traveler of the sea because despite of their slowness, they never stop. Octopuses are like magicians of the sea. They have eight arms and can squeeze into the smallest cracks. When they feel danger, the...

"Red Roses"

Many people think that red roses are only a simple flower given to show love or admiration. Lovers exchange them on a special date, friends give them as a way of appreciation or give them if there is a celebration. But behind its beautiful appearance, red roses have a deeper meaning, either love, sacrifice, and even goodbyes. A long time ago, people believed that red roses were not just flowers but a promise by two person who loved. It was said to bloom in the places where true love existed. Their red petals hold emotions that cannot explainable. Some people says that red roses carries a secret. A story of love, sacrifice and farewell that was never told. Beyond love, red roses symbolizes something more. It shows that beauty and pain can exist together because in every couple their is sacrifices behind it. Their soft petals are gentle, but their thorns remind us that love no matter how beautiful, can sometimes hurt. It stands strong in sun and rain, just like the two couple who keep lo...

"MY TEACHER, MY HERO"

Sometimes, a hero is not always someone who wears a cape or saves the world. Sometimes, a hero is someone who patiently guides us, encourages us to be strong, and helps us to believe in ourselves. They are the ones who stood by our side as a second parent and teach us not just lessons from the books but also lessons about life. When I was in elementary, my teachers were always there by my side. They taught me how to read, write, and count. They were patiently teaching me when I struggled to spell simple words or solve math problems. I remember back then when my father was in the hospital. I didn't go to school for about a month because I was there for my Papa. When my father discharged, I planned to stop my study because of my absences, but good thing that my elementary teacher talked to my parents and asked them to send me to school again. Because of him I decided to continue my study. In my high school, my teachers encouraged me to think deeper and dream bigger. They teach us to ...

"COLLEGE LIFE"

Many people say that college is one of the best times in a student's life, filled with new experiences, friendships, and opportunities. But for me, it is more than that. It is a test of endurance patience, and perseverance.  As a third year student pursuing a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English, I have realized that success is not just about intelligence. But, it is about hard work, determination, and courage to keep pushing forward even when things get difficult. Unlike those who excel naturally in academics, I struggle with English vocabulary and speaking fluently. Sometimes, I feel like I am always trying to catch up with classmates who can express their thoughts effortlessly. But instead of letting this discourage me, I see it as a challenge. I make the effort to study harder and read more, and practice speaking despite my insecurities, because I knew that learning takes time, and and long as I do not give up, I will continue to improve.  Financial struggles h...
